Considering that an employee value proposition attempts to answer the question: ‘Why should talented individuals work for the GMA?’, this therefore informs the GMA Employee Value Proposition (EVP).
The organisation recognises that in the employment relationship people no longer work for an organisation just to collect a paycheck, thus as part of its retention strategy, GMA had to consider how to both attract and retain talent by offering value in terms of what they perceive as valuable. These insights are uncovered through employee engagements.
Those who have the privilege of joining the GMA, get to join a family of professionals who are driven and invested in their careers and personal growth, and subsequently inspire others to do the same. Further, the GMA is a ‘values driven organisation’ which recognise and reward its human capital. It is an organisation characterised by its high-performance culture that yields outstanding results. For the GMA employees, the sky is not the limit but the beginning of a satisfying career and true personal growth. Where high performers continue to excel and high-potential individuals unleash their true potential as the GMA provides a platform for its employees to develop professionally beyond their current level of growth.

OVERCOMING COVID-19 PANDEMIC CHALLENGES
___________________________________________
Turning to the prior financial year, which concluded on 31 March 2022, the whole financial year was subject to the National State of Disaster proclaimed in reaction to the Covid-19 pandemic. The ramifications were felt across the GMA and Gautrain operations. Nevertheless, provisions were made for employees during these tough times. When Covid-19 began, the GMA quickly transitioned to remote working, thanks to the agility demonstrated of the ICT team in providing the necessary cutting-edge technology to enable the transition. Then overtime the organisation adapted to a hybrid working model. Also, the GMA managed to sustain jobs even during the peak of the pandemic, not one single employee lost their livelihood. And most importantly, there was business continuity.
